Luckenbooth
The luckenbooth brooch is one of the most quintessential Scottish designs. I was asked many times when will I be making one. As with all my work I take a design and put a little touch of Celtic Dreaming into the piece! Dating from the 16th century and linked to Mary Queen of Scots, these pieces of jewellery were traditionally given by a groom to his bride on their wedding day, later to be pinned to the clothes of their new born baby as a protective amulet. The design features the crown of Mary Queen of Scots and two intertwined hearts.
