The Manx Sword Pin

This is the Manx kilt pin. The national motto from the Isle of Man is “No matter which way you throw me, I will always land on my feet!”. This is represented in the ancient symbol of a spiral triskele. The Manx crest is of solid 9ct Rose Gold, hand carved and hand finished, set in deep red colorit enamel. The long sword is a style from the 11th century, and it is decorated with the Cross of Saint Columba from the 6th century CE.  St Columba was a martyr, and after she died a miraculous holy well appeared where her body lay.

 

It is 10cm x 3cm, and can be worn on a jacket lapel, a clan scarf or a kilt.
