Possum Brooch
My thanks to David Begg who gave us the art work that led to this beautiful design. The original design was of a farming scene with the possum included, and it was the first time I carved an animal in wax. This little brooch also has a banksia flower cut through and filled with “Colorit” enamel in red, and a tiny butterfly. It is about 2cm in diameter, perfect for a jacket lapel, jumper or a hat.
We have many possums living around our house. If you don’t see them, you can certainly hear them at night! This design is a homage to the possum families we watch grow year after year.
