The Madonna Knotwork Earrings
From The Book of Kells, folio 7V, 8AD Ireland/Iona. The Virgin and Child page has the Madonna surrounded by 4 Angels, and on Her right shoulder is a brooch in the pattern I have used to create this piece of jewellery. Also notable is the chair on which the Holy Family are sitting on, this is an important record of Early Medieval Irish furniture. The design from this ancient book also has a very contemporary feel to it and is a popular choice for many of our customers.
