This is a long sword style from the 11th century. It is decorated with the Cross of Saint Columba from the 6th century CE. St Columba was a martyr, and after she died a miraculous holy well appeared where her body lay. On top of that cross is a 9ct Rose Gold Lion Rampant shield, with deep blue enamel. The sword pummel has deep red enamel set into it.
It is 10cm x 3cm, and can be worn on a jacket lapel, a clan scarf or a kilt.
