Superb Fairy Wren Necklace
Voted the most popular Australian native bird in 2013 the superb fairy Wren has long been one of my favourites. We have flocks of them in our garden and along the our quite country road. Each one of my wee Wrens is individually hand coloured, so none are the same. The wattle flowers are specially coloured in mixed hues to bring out the rich blues of the plumage. Layer on layer of Colorit enamels are laid down, every colour mixed to create an effect that brings the Wren to life.
It is quite large, measuring 5cm x 4cm. It is also available as a brooch for $420.
